What's your story?

Hello followers!
Nothing new to report here, but I thought I'd make this week's blog about you. The Madison Marathon is just 4 weeks away and I want to hear how you're doing! Are you excited? Nervous? Both? Are you running a race for the first time or are you a pro? Will you run with friends or family? How's the training going?
Still benched, but I want to keep in touch. I am really looking forward to running again, but for now, I'm stress eating and losing sleep, so I hope you're all fairing better :)
Let's hear about it!

  1. I have loved reading your posts, and I'm so bummed that you won't be running the half marathon. I am anxiously anticipating my first half marathon and this weekend is my 'trial run.' I am running a 20K race around Lake Monona. I'm hoping it goes well because it would give me a lot of confidence going into the half marathon.

  3. I ran a 1/2 marathon in LaCrosse this weekend as a tune up run for Madison at the end of the month. Tried to go easy but ended up PR'ing by 15 minutes. Can't wait for Memorial day weekend where hopefully I can PR in the marathon as well.

  4. Looking forward to the race - this will be my second year. I grew up in Madison, but have since moved away. This year my husband is running it with me - well "with me" is relative. Unfortunately my knee has been bothering me lately. I went to the doctor today, and was told I needed physical therapy. The physical therapist said I have ITBS, but with all the stretching and cortizone they want to give me over the next couple weeks - I should be able to run. Hopefully I can keep up some running in the mean time!

  5. I will be running my second Marathon. I've completed about a dozen halfs in the past few yaers. And look forward to crushing my PR from Chicago 2008. I'm excited and nervous now and am happy to have my long runs behind me. Somedays I'm confident and somedays I'm not. But, I know that's I've done all that I can to prepare me.
